If you’re headed south or southeast for a holidays, be additional aware. An extended risk for serious thunderstorms and tornadoes are in place for distant southern Illinois and Indiana, executive and western Kentucky and Tennessee, northwestern Alabama, executive and northern Mississippi, eastern Arkansas, and southeastern Missouri.
Severe storms in Arkansas have downed trees and energy lines in Pope County, about 65 miles northwest of Little Rock. One chairman was killed when a tree fell on his residence during a storms.
If you’re headed easterly toward Chicago, south into executive Illinois, or southwest toward a Quad Cities, a slight risk for deleterious winds and an removed hurricane is in place.
Showers and thunderstorms should be exiting a area after 8 pm, though remember a high winds will be durability until early tomorrow morning.
