Health is our most precious resource. We can’t work well if we are feeling sick or have no energy, so we can’t be productive if we’re sick. That is why it is imperative that we take care of our health; it’s imperative that we follow a program and engage in activities that will help us get and stay healthy for a lifetime.
Sick days do not lead to productive days. We can all recall days when we just are felt so sick that nothing gets done; sick when we barely have energy to get up out of bed. If we want productive days, we need to take care of our health. Health means business.
What does it mean to take care of our health? It means investing time and money into ourselves. It means looking for products and programs that will help us lose weight if we are overweight. It means consuming foods that will fuel our body and give us the nutrients we need to prevent getting sick. It means investing in supplements that will help our immune system get strong so that colds and others viruses can’t attack and get us down.
There are many things we can do to improve our health. Three important things we can do is make exercise a habit, eat healthy organic meals and snacks through out the day, and use non-toxic products. Making exercise a habit means engaging in an exercise program that will give us great results; we can either invest in a good at-home exercise program like ChaLEAN Extreme or P90X offered by BeachBody, or we can get a membership to a gym close to home and commit to going 5-6 days a week. [Personally, I don’t like commuting and working out at gyms, so I workout at home with ChaLEAN Extreme.] Eating healthy means we eat a high-protein energizing breakfast; it means not skipping breakfast and then having a donut and coffee at work or a donut shop. It means planning good healthy snacks in the morning and in the afternoon, and planning and eating a healthy lunch and dinner.
It also means not eating two to three hours before bedtime. Using non-toxic products means taking the time to purchase products that have good ingredients in them; ingredients that will actually bring us health and not kill us slowly. There are so many ingredients in products that are toxic for our health, so it’s important to find out what ingredients are toxic and read labels to make sure the products are safe to use. At first the process will be long, figuring out what products are best, but once you know the products and what company sells them, you will be buying them regularly and we won’t switch the the unhealthy brands again.
A question to ponder: What are you doing to take care of your health? If you are not investing time and money in yourself to be healthy, you won’t be able to be very productive. Remember, health means business.
