The city’s first Ebola patient primarily lied to authorities about his travels around a city following his lapse from treating illness victims in Africa, law-enforcement sources said.
Dr. Craig Spencer during initial told officials that he removed himself in his Harlem unit — and didn’t acknowledge he rode a subways, dined out and went bowling until cops looked during his MetroCard a sources said.
“He told a authorities that he self-quarantined. Detectives afterwards reviewed his credit-card matter and MetroCard and found that he went over here, over there, adult and down and all around,” a source said.
Spencer finally ’fessed adult when a patrolman “got on a phone and had to send questions to him by a Health Department,” a source said.
Officials afterwards retraced Spencer’s steps, that enclosed dining during The Meatball Shop in Greenwich Village and bowling during The Gutter in Brooklyn.
